Description

SFC Engineering Partnership, Inc. was solicited by The University of New Hampshire to provide fire alarm system design services for Kendall Hall, an existing collegiate facility containing Business and Storage Use Groups.

Kendall hall, located at 129 Main Street in Durham, New Hampshire, was in need of a new fire alarm system. The system was installed to meet applicable portions of the New Hampshire State Building and Fire Codes, specifically the International Existing Building Code, the Life Safety Code, and the National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.

SFC completed a fire and life safety review for the University Of New Hampshire (UNH) in order to determine the code compliancy of Kendall Hall. Next, SFC provided UNH with construction administration services during the installation of the new fire alarm system.

SFC provided a review of the shop drawings submitted by the contractor to verify the installation will meet the project specifications and design. SFC attended regular project meetings with the contractor to monitor project progress and answer any questions that arose during the project installation. Next, witnessing the final testing of the new fire alarm system to verify proper operation and contractor documentation took place. Lastly, SFC provided a review of the final as-built documents to verify they accurately reflected installed conditions and compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
